Setting up a temporary office in Lisbon: what to rent and what it costs

Standing Desk

A temporary office in Lisbon is a room you need to work from for days, weeks or a few months: a project team flown in for a launch, a startup between leases, a film crew’s production office, or an exhibitor’s base during Web Summit. The space is usually easy to find. What it lacks is desks, chairs, power and somewhere to write.

This guide covers what a working team actually needs, what it costs to rent in Lisbon, and how delivery and collection work. Every price below is the real booking total, checked on 26 October 2026 for a start date of 16 November 2026.

Is it cheaper to rent office furniture than to buy it?

For anything under a few months, renting is cheaper. A basic desk costs €60 to rent for 30 days, delivered and collected, against several times that to buy, assemble and then get rid of. Buying only starts to make sense when the office will run for a year or more and you have somewhere to store the furniture afterwards.

The hidden cost of buying is the end of the project. Furniture bought for a three-month office has to be sold, donated or thrown away, and in Lisbon that usually means a van, stairs and a weekend. Rented furniture leaves the way it came.

What does a temporary office need?

A working team needs four things: a desk and a proper chair per person, enough power sockets, a shared surface for planning, and coffee. Everything else, from screens to storage, depends on the work.

  • Desks. A standard office desk covers most people. A sitting-to-standing desk is worth it for anyone working full days for weeks, because it lets them switch position without leaving the desk.
  • Chairs. Kitchen and café chairs are fine for a day and painful for a week. An office chair or an ergonomic desk chair with lumbar support is the difference.
  • Power. Older Lisbon apartments and shopfronts often have two or three sockets per room. Plan on one surge-protected power strip for every two people: each person brings at least a laptop and a phone, and often a monitor.
  • A whiteboard. A magnetic whiteboard on a stand turns any room into a meeting room and does not need drilling into a rented wall.
  • Coffee. A Nespresso machine keeps the team in the room instead of at the café downstairs.

Screens, laptops and other IT are listed separately in the Lisbon catalogue, with live availability for your dates.

How much does it cost to rent office furniture in Lisbon?

Renting office furniture in Lisbon costs from €8 a day for a desk, and long rentals are much cheaper per day: a standard desk is €8 for one day and €60 for 30 days. These are the booking totals per item, VAT included, before delivery and collection:

Item1 day7 days30 days
Office desk€8€28€60
Sitting-to-standing desk€25€119€300
Office chair€9€35€75
Ergonomic desk chair€12€42€90
Magnetic whiteboard€12€35€60
Surge-protected power strip€8€21€39
Nespresso machine€10€35€60
Prices checked 26 October 2026 for rentals starting 16 November 2026. Each product page shows the current price and availability for your dates.

Do not work out a long rental by multiplying the one-day price. The price per day drops as the rental gets longer, so a 30-day desk costs €60, not 30 times €8.

What does a four-person office cost for a month?

A four-person temporary office in Lisbon costs about €738 for 30 days with standard desks, or about €1,698 with standing desks, before delivery and collection. Both versions include four office chairs, one whiteboard, two power strips and a coffee machine:

  • Standard: 4 office desks (€240), 4 office chairs (€300), 1 magnetic whiteboard (€60), 2 power strips (€78), 1 Nespresso machine (€60). Total €738.
  • Standing: the same, with 4 sitting-to-standing desks (€1,200) instead of the standard desks. Total €1,698.

A common middle option is standard desks for most of the team and one or two standing desks to share.

How do delivery and collection work?

We deliver to the office address on the first day of the rental and collect from the same address on the last day. Delivery and collection are priced by zone and shown in full before you pay. A delivery or collection outside 09:00 to 18:00 costs €10 extra per trip, which helps when the building is only open in the evening.

Check two things with the building before the delivery day: whether there is a lift, and whether the van can stop outside. Many central Lisbon streets are narrow, and a note about stairs or parking at booking saves time on the day.

Renting for an event or Web Summit?

If the office is for a conference or a trade fair, the stand kits for events in Lisbon page groups screens, IT and furniture into pitch-day, pavilion and meeting-room kits, with 1-day and 4-day prices for Web Summit (9 to 12 November 2026).

How to book

Pick your dates on each product page and add the items to the basket. For larger orders, such as ten desks or a whole floor, send the list on WhatsApp or by email to info@rent-anything.com and we will confirm availability and send a single payment link.

About Rent Anything

This article is published by Rent Anything. Here is what the service is, in case you arrived here from a search.

What is Rent Anything?

Rent Anything is a short-term and mid-term equipment rental service operating in Lisbon, Paris and Disneyland Paris.

Equipment rental refers to paying a daily rate for an item you use and then hand back, rather than buying it or carrying it with you. A mid-term rental means that the booking runs for weeks or months rather than days. Five ranges are stocked: baby and children's gear, mobility equipment, remote-work tech, home and living, and travel and outdoors. In short, you travel light and it is waiting when you arrive.

How does renting work?

Four steps: browse the catalogue, book your dates, take delivery or collect, then return the item at the end.

Rates are quoted per day and fall the longer you rent, because every product carries a rate ladder, also known as pricing tiers, rather than one flat price. For example, a week costs less per day than a weekend does. A minimum rental period refers to the shortest booking an item accepts, and it is stated on that item's own page beside its live availability. According to our own how-it-works guide, there is no deposit at any point. Therefore the figure shown for your dates is what those dates cost, not a starting price. Source: How it works.

Where do you deliver?

Across Lisbon, Paris and Disneyland Paris, including the Lisbon and Paris airports and the Lisbon Cruise Terminal.

Delivery refers to us bringing the item to where you are staying - hotels, Airbnbs, serviced apartments and private residences - rather than you finding a depot. Specifically, it is priced from the distance between our warehouse in that city and the address you give, so the fee appears at checkout. In addition, free cancellation means that a booking can be cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before it starts. Simply put, you book the address you are staying at and we handle both ends.
