The questions we get most

Renting means that you pay only for the days you use an item and hand it back at the end.

Simply put, there are four steps: browse the catalogue, book your dates, take delivery or collect, then return the item. Because the booking is arranged online, there is no paperwork to sign on the day. Specifically, each product page shows live availability, so the dates you pick are the dates held for you.

The price is quoted per day and depends on the item, and a longer booking costs less per day than a short one.

This is because every product carries a rate ladder rather than one flat price. A rate ladder refers to a set of per-day rates that falls as the booking gets longer. For example, a two-week hire works out cheaper per day than a weekend.

The minimum is one day.

A rental period is defined as the days between your start and end dates, inclusive. Single-day rentals are accepted in both cities. However, each product page states its own minimum where that item differs, and the figure on the product page always wins.

Both are available, and you choose between them when you book.

Delivery goes to the address you are staying at, in particular hotels and short-stay apartments. Collection, also known as pickup, is free from our storage in Lisbon or Paris. As a result, you can keep the cost down by collecting if you are nearby.

No. Items are rented without a security deposit, so the price you see at checkout is what you pay.

A security deposit is defined as money held against damage and returned afterwards, and we do not take one. In addition, the quoted rate covers the item itself; delivery is priced separately and shown before you confirm.

It is free to cancel up to 24 hours before the start date of the booking.

After that point the booking stands, because the item has been reserved and taken off the calendar for your dates. Therefore, if your plans are uncertain, book the dates you are sure of and extend later.

We cover Lisbon and Paris.

They are stocked separately, so an item listed in Lisbon is held in Lisbon and its availability is checked there. Stock refers to the units physically held in that city. Consequently, a Paris listing never draws on Lisbon stock. Similarly, delivery is arranged within the city you booked in.

Prices are shown in euros by default.

However, you can switch to US dollars anywhere on the site. Moreover, the amount you are charged matches the currency you picked, not a converted estimate. For instance, a price shown in dollars is charged in dollars.

Key takeaways

In summary, renting is a four-step process: pick an item, choose your dates, take delivery or collect it, and hand it back at the end.

Rates are per day and fall as the booking gets longer, since each product carries a rate ladder. There is no deposit, the minimum is one day, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before you start. Meanwhile, stock is held separately in Lisbon and Paris, so availability is always checked against the city you picked.

In short, you pay for the days you use and nothing else.
