Located near the Oceanário in Parque das Nações, this interactive science museum is perfect for curious minds. Don’t miss the “T-Rex” exhibition, where kids can come face-to-face with a life-sized dinosaur.
Tip: There are a lot of fun temporary exhibits, including the Science of Pixar, which is running until 14 Sept 2025.

Are your children mesmerised by dinosaurs or the universe? Then you are in for a treat! Located in the heart of Lisbon, this museum is a treasure trove of natural history and science. Rainy weather is the perfect excuse to take a ride on Lisbon’s iconic yellow trams. Tram 28 offers a scenic tour of the city’s historic neighbourhood,s including Alama, Baixa and Chiado. While it’s a treat for adults, kids will love the novelty of riding the old-fashioned tram as it clatters through Lisbon’s hilly streets.
Tip: This tram is almost always full as it is incredibly popular among tourists. You can also board the 12 tram, which offers an equally pleasant way to view the city, and is more used by commuters who get on and off the tram more frequently.
5. Take a Trip to KidZania
If your little ones need to burn off some energy, head to KidZania in the Dolce Vita Tejo shopping mall. This indoor mini-city is designed for kids to role-play different professions, from firefighters to chefs, in a safe and engaging environment. It’s a fantastic way to spend a rainy afternoon while encouraging imagination and learning.
Tip: Book tickets in advance, as this attraction can get busy on weekends.
