Rent Anything is a short- and mid-term gear rental business operating in Lisbon and Paris. We rent baby and children’s gear, mobility equipment, remote work tech, travel accessories and many more to visitors and residents who need quality equipment without buying it. We’re growing fast, and the business sits at the intersection of hospitality, logistics, and care.
We’re looking for someone to own and run our Lisbon operation end-to-end so the business can scale further and serve customers better than ever.
The role
The Operations Lead is the person who makes Lisbon run. You’ll own every gear rental from the moment an order is confirmed until the equipment is back in our storage, cleaned, inspected, and ready for the next customer. This is a hands-on role with real ownership — you’ll be the face of Rent Anything for our Lisbon customers and the person who makes sure every handover meets our standard.
You’ll work closely with the founders, who are stepping back from day-to-day operations to focus on strategy and growth. As Lisbon volume grows through this year, you’ll help recruit and manage a part-time second operator to support peak season and provide coverage.
👉 Responsibilities
The Operations Lead will oversee the daily operations of Rent Anything, ensuring seamless delivery, return logistics, and inventory management. Responsibilities include:
- Inventory and stock management. Knowing what we have, where it is, what’s out on rental, and what’s coming back when.
- Bookings management. We receive bookings from multiple platforms, and you would need to stay on top of the bookings and plan weekly and daily deliveries.
- Deliveries and collections. Planning daily routes, executing handovers at apartments, hotels, and homes across central Lisbon, and collecting equipment on time. You’ll be the person customers meet — friendly, professional, on time.
- Supervising quality control for rented items and identifying process improvements. Every item that comes back gets cleaned to our standard, inspected for wear or damage, and returned to ready-to-rent condition. You’ll flag items needing repair or replacement and keep our inventory in top shape.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams
- Improving processes. The role will also involve analysing operational performance and implementing strategies to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Reporting
As the operation grows, the role will expand to include managing the part-time delivery team, supporting new services, and contributing to process improvements.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Lisbon, with some work-from-home flexibility.
Who we’re looking for
✅ This role is right for you if:
- You know central Lisbon well! The neighbourhoods, the parking realities, the difference between a delivery in Chiado and one in Alfama.
- You’re physically capable of moving and handling equipment that ranges from light (strollers, travel cots) to bulky (wheelchairs, mobility scooters).
- You speak English fluently and can communicate in Portuguese. Most of our customers are international visitors; however, we also regularly deal with Portuguese speakers.
- You’re presentable and friendly. Many of our handovers happen in upscale hotels, and customers often include families with young children or older travellers with mobility needs. The interaction matters as much as the equipment.
- You have a driving licence and reliable transport (desirable).
- You think like an owner. If a stroller wheel is loose, you notice, you fix or flag it, and you don’t wait to be told. This is the single most important trait for this role.
- You’re organised. You can hold a delivery schedule, an inventory list, and a customer comms thread in your head and still get the details right.
- You’re available for occasional weekend and early-morning work — gear rentals follow travel patterns, not office hours. Schedule is structured and predictable, but it isn’t 9-to-5.
✨ Nice to have:
- Experience in hospitality, logistics, healthcare, childcare, or any role where you’ve handled both equipment and people with care.
- Familiarity with WordPress, Google Workspace (calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet), or basic order-management tools. WhatsApp (iMessage is nice to have, but not compulsory)
- French or Spanish, in addition to Portuguese and English.

- A full employment contract. Six-month fixed-term contract (contrato a termo certo) to start, with explicit conversion to a permanent contract (sem termo) on successful completion. We want someone who’s here to build, not pass through.
