About Rent Anything
Rent Anything is a short- and mid-term gear rental business operating in Lisbon and Paris. We rent baby and children’s gear, mobility equipment, remote work tech, travel accessories, and more to visitors and residents who need quality equipment without having to buy it. We’re growing fast, and the business sits at the intersection of hospitality, logistics, and care.
We’re now expanding to Porto.
The opportunity
This is a launch role. The Algarve is a new market for us, and you’ll be the first person on the ground building it. You’ll inherit our brand, our systems, our supplier relationships, and our playbook from Lisbon and Pari, but you’ll be applying them to a market that’s currently zero. Algarve volume is heavily seasonal: summers will be busy, and winters will be quiet. The role is structured around that reality.
If you’re someone who thrives on building something from nothing, who likes the mix of strategic and hands-on work that comes with launching a market, and who’s comfortable with seasonal rhythms — this is for you. If you want steady year-round volume from day one, this role isn’t a fit.
The role
As Operations Lead for the Algarve, you’ll own our entire operation in the region. That means everything from the customer’s order confirmation to the equipment returning to storage, cleaned and ready for the next rental.
Your territory
Most of our deliveries will happen in:
- Faro Airport — our single biggest pickup and drop-off point, as most customers are flying into the Algarve.
- Albufeira — high-volume tourist corridor, hotels and villa rentals.
- Tavira — eastern Algarve, growing demand from international visitors.
Occasionally, we’ll send you further west:
- Portimão — roughly 50 minutes from Faro.
- Lagos — roughly 60–75 minutes from Faro.
Longer-distance deliveries are paid at a higher rate (see below). You’ll always know the pay before accepting a job.
👉 What you’ll own from day one
- Deliveries and collections. Across the Faro–Albufeira–Tavira core territory and occasionally west to Portimão and Lagos. Customers are mostly international visitors staying in villas, hotels, and short-term rentals — you’re the face of Rent Anything for every one of them.
- Stock and inventory management. Knowing what we have, where it is, what’s out on rental, and what’s coming back when. Keeping the inventory system accurate and flagging stock gaps before they become problems. Helping us decide what to add as Algarve demand reveals itself — beach gear, baby equipment, and mobility are likely to feature differently here than in our city operations.
- Scheduling. Building the daily and weekly schedule that makes deliveries, collections, cleaning, and inspections all fit together — including managing the seasonal swing between busy summer weeks and quieter winter ones.
- Customer communications. Confirming bookings, answering questions, handling delivery logistics with guests (often coordinating with airport arrivals or villa check-ins), and dealing with the small problems that come up during a rental. You’ll be supported by our central team and tools, but you’re the local voice.
- Cleaning and gear inspection. Every item that comes back gets cleaned to our standard, inspected for wear or damage (sand and salt accelerate wear in the Algarve), and returned to ready-to-rent condition. You’ll flag items needing repair or replacement.
- Local presence and learning. As the first person on the ground in the Algarve, you’ll be our eyes and ears on what works locally — which resorts and villa management companies drive bookings, which partners are worth approaching, and what gear demand actually looks like here versus our other cities.
Who we’re looking for
✅ This role is right for you if:
- You’re based in the Faro–Albufeira–Tavira area and know the Algarve well — the resorts, the back roads, the difference between an EN125 drive in February and one in August.
- You have a car or van and a clean driving licence. The Algarve operation is car-based — distances make scooters impractical for anything beyond the very local.
- You speak Portuguese and English fluently. The Algarve customer base is overwhelmingly international (British, German, Dutch, French, Scandinavian), so confident English is essential.
- You’re physically capable of moving equipment that ranges from light (strollers, beach gear, travel cots) to bulky (wheelchairs, mobility scooters).
- You’re presentable and warm. Many handovers happen at upscale villas, hotels, and resorts — and customers often include families with young children or older travellers.
- You think like an owner. You notice the loose stroller wheel, you flag the supplier opportunity, and you don’t wait to be told. This is the single most important trait for a launch role.
- You’re organised. You can hold a delivery schedule across a 100km+ territory, an inventory list, and a customer comms thread — and you can plan routes that bundle trips efficiently.
- You’re comfortable with seasonality. Summer hours will be high; winter hours will be low. We’ll structure the contract and pay around this honestly, but the rhythm has to suit your life.
- You’re available for weekend and early-morning work — gear rentals follow travel and flight patterns, not office hours. Schedule is structured and predictable within your agreed weekly hours, but it isn’t 9-to-5.
📦 What we offer
- Part-time employment contract. Six-month fixed-term contract (contrato a termo certo a tempo parcial) with explicit conversion to a permanent contract on successful completion. Weekly hours flex with the season — higher in summer, lower in winter — agreed upfront so there are no surprises.
- Competitive hourly rate above market for the role, reflecting that this is an ownership position. A specific range was discussed at the interview based on experience.
- Distance-based delivery bonuses. Core territory (Faro Airport, Albufeira, Tavira) is paid at your standard rate. Portimão and Lagos deliveries carry a higher per-trip rate that reflects the longer drive and your time on the road. You’ll know the rate before you accept a job.
- Statutory benefits in full and pro-rated — holiday entitlement, holiday and Christmas subsidies, meal allowance (subsídio de alimentação), social security, all properly handled.
- Vehicle expenses covered. Fuel, tolls, parking, and a per-kilometre allowance for use of your own vehicle on company business.
- Real autonomy. You own the Algarve. Within agreed standards and budgets, you make the calls — when to deliver, how to schedule, which local relationships to build.
- Growth with the market. As the Algarve scales, this role scales with it. The Operations Lead today is the Algarve Manager when we have multiple operators, a proper storage facility, and the inventory to match peak summer demand.
- Founders who will trust you to run it. We’re hiring because the Algarve needs a person who lives there and owns it. We’re not looking for someone to micromanage — we’re looking for someone we can trust.

Submit your details below. In a few sentences (not a cover letter, just plain text), tell us why this role interests you and what you’d want to ask us about the business. If you’ve ever run operations, logistics, or hands-on service work before, one example of a problem you spotted and fixed without being asked.
We respond to every application within five working days. Shortlisted candidates have a 30-minute video call, then a working interview — a half-day shadowing real operations (either in Algarve if we have volume by then, or in Lisbon), paid, before any final offer.
